EXOSOUND GROWS WITH AN EXO-RBITANT SOUND |

“Exosound was formally born in August 2008, although more than 20 years in the sector have given us the support so that our clients could continue trusting us and the products we offer them. We are a familiar company and, just like in every family, each member has an important role”… these words marked the beginning of the interview we present here, gathering information thanks to the collaboration of Damasia Sananes and Julio Levinsonas, executive directors of this Argentinian company.

The product range offered by the company has been very wide right from the beginning with microphones, recorders and reproducers, monitors, power amplifiers and headphones, just to name some examples of the devices they have in the market even today.
At the moment the corporative staff has six people working in different areas like sales, logistics, administration and management. The Sales sector is divided based on the clients; distributors (music houses, trade shops, etc.) and final users, with which the staff works based on the premium brands they represent.
"The company’s ideas and its focus were a differential so that some of the most important companies in the sector started trusting us. Audio- Audio-Technica, Tascam, Lab.gruppen, Whirlwind, Adam Audio and Ultimate Ears are the most representative ones, accompanied by others of great reputation like Avalon Design, Countryman, DPA Mics, Hear Technologies, Lectrosonics and Sound Devices which are high range products, forcing us somehow to carry out each sale in a special way. We also distribute Yamaha and Digidesign, what completes the portfolio of brands and products in professional audio", Dama detailed.
And she continued explaining on the represented brands that are having more success in the Argentinian market, with Audio-Technica in the first place and its studio and live microphones, Tascam with its interfaces, portastudios and monitors, Lab.gruppen with its famous digital power amps and Whirlwind with the direct boxes and snakes which "are already a classic in the live sound world".
The relationship with the main brands they represent comes from many years ago, even before the existence of Exosound, and it was reinforced with the creation of the company. The first brands were, between 2003 and 2004, Avalon Design, Sound Devices and Lectrosonics which understood that to distribute their products they needed to know the market and the needs from the local clients to whom the local company could show and make understand the unique qualities of these brands and their products. "Today, we can see in each important studio an Avalon preamplifier and in the cinema world, the most important and well-known sound technicians have as a core in their systems Sound Devices (mixers and recorders) and Lectrosonics wireless mics, the only ones in which they trust for this delicate work", Julio added, and continued saying: "The job was intense but it enabled us to show other brands how we work, and then they allowed us to develop them and sell their products in this so competitive market. Starting from 2005, with the Ultimate Ears custom headphones, plus the Countryman microphones, we completed a range of high quality products".
"Some years later, other brands started to be interested in us with massive products, for example Tascam that came to us trying to take up again the direction they had lost at the beginning of 2000 and luckily we made it, with the help of some new products, as interfaces, speakers and the traditional portastudios which today are requested in most of the sales shops in the sector. Between years 2006 and 2008 similar companies, as Whirlwind and Audio-Technica who saw the potential to develop their products, offered us the distribution in Argentina… two big brands with very extensive lines. At the same time, Dolby with its live sound products trusted us to take the incredible Dolby Lake to all the big companies in the sector, a processor having unique features although today they no longer market it, since they sold that technology to another of the brands we represent: Lab.gruppen, a traditional manufacturer of power amplifiers which today is entering to the processors market with the Lake technology added to Lab.gruppen’s experience. The most well-known digital power amps (the most important companies in the world use these power amps and the Lake technology in processors) have been tested by the biggest companies in the country and -comparing them with their competitors- most of them have chosen Lab.gruppen. Our last incorporation was the German company called Adam Audio, specialists in studio monitors having a quite interesting technology and also a lot of prestige abroad". |
