Professional audio company that provides speakers and electroacoustic systems
D.A.S. expands the Aero Series2 of line arrays with the large format Aero 50, the evolution of the highly successful Aero 48.
This externally powered, high efficiency line array module integrates low, mid and high frequency transducers in a single unit. Designed for use in large-scale events in stadiums and arenas, the Aero 50 offers a number of important improvements in terms of performance and weight reduction. The low frequency reproduction is handled by two new 15GNR loudspeakers in a bass-reflex configuration. The 15GNR speaker incorporates a 102 mm (4) edge-wound flat wire (EFW) voice coil and lightweight neodymium magnet assembly maximizing the dynamic response for a deep, precise bass. A redesigned motor structure which utilizes an internal neodymium ring focuses magnetic energy in the gap where it is needed, ensures reduced magnetic leakage and lowers the component weight. Four purpose-built 8MN, 8 cone transducers incorporating neodymium magnetic assemblies and 62 mm (2.5) voice coils are used for mid frequency reproduction. These rugged, yet lightweight components take advantage of the unique Total Air Flow (TAF) cooling scheme which effectively evacuates voice-coil heat minimizing power compression. High frequency reproduction is handled by two M-75N compression drivers designed for use in applications where high SPL and low distortion are mandatory. A pure titanium diaphragm featuring 75 mm (3) copper-clad aluminum EFW voice coil yields high sensitivity, low distortion and extended frequency response. A copper shorting ring surrounding the pole piece effectively reduces eddy current induced distortion with the added benefit of increasing the very high frequency output by reducing the inductive rise of the voice coil. The M-75N drivers are coupled to the SERPIS high frequency plane wave generator which ensures accurate high-frequency summing and the generation of a flat, isophasic wavefront for the high frequency section. The rugged, trapezoidal enclosure is built using Birch plywood and covered with a durable paint finish. The new, lightweight captive rigging system keeps all parts in place and makes joining one box to another safe and simple. The Aero 50´s rear located splay angle adjusters keep the front spacing between adjacent elements the same, providing the array with a seamless front baffle for improved array performance. Splay angles range from 0º to 9.6º and can be adjusted in 0.8º increments from 0º to 3.2º and 1.6º increments from 3.2º to 9.6 º allowing a wide range of column curvatures to be accomplished. Moving the Aero 50 is easy thanks to the front located dolly panel.
D.A.S. presents the Aero 12A compact line array system which joins the Aero Series2 family of professional sound touring products.
The system incorporates an impressive battery of high tech features that take compact line array systems to an unprecedented level of performance. The two-way amplifier design of the Aero 12A sets a new industry benchmark in audio performance, efficiency and power density. The 600 W amplifier employs 3rd generation Class D technologies providing extended bandwidth, improved dynamic range and exceptionally low distortion. The impressively compact and lightweight amplifier design requires much less space, reducing the overall cabinet size and in turn, the total cabinet weight. Signal processing is accomplished by way of a powerful 24 bit DSP, providing unparalleled control over critical signal parameters. State-of-the-art Wavelet analysis which provides an accurate time-frequency representation is combined with precise adjustment of the Digital Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters allowing D.A.S. engineers to achieve perfect time alignment. The Aero 12A incorporates a new D.A.S. 12LN4C, 12 low frequency transducer. The 12LNC4 employs a 75 mm (3) voice coil and neodymium magnet motor assembly. Effective heat evacuation is achieved by way of the Total Air Flow (TAF) cooling scheme which permits high power handling and low power compression. High frequency reproduction relies on the new D.A.S. M-75N neodymium compression driver designed for use in applications where high SPL and low distortion are required. A pure titanium diaphragm featuring a 75 mm copper-clad, aluminium flat-wire voice coil yields high sensitivity, low distortion and extended frequency response. A copper shorting ring surrounding the pole piece effectively reduces eddy current induced distortion with the added benefit of increasing the very high frequency output by reducing the inductive rise of the voice coil. The driver is attached to a new BPS-9010 aluminium waveguide-horn assembly. The easily portable and rugged enclosure is manufactured using birch plywood and finished with a durable black paint. The Aero 12s trapezoidal shape and rear located splay angle adjusters keep the front spacing between adjacent elements the same, providing the array with a seamless front baffle, for improved array performance. The captive rigging system splay angles range from 0º to 10º and can be adjusted in 0.5º increments from 0º to 3º and 1º increments from 3º to 10 º allowing a wide range of column curvatures to be accomplished. A new rigging bumper has been developed which also can be used to fly or ground stack the Aero 12A by way of the optional KITGS-AERO12 ground stacking kit which provides three adjustable pods, 4 rigging guides and quick release pins. A rigging adapter (AX-COMBO12) allows the Aero 12A to be flown under other Aero units as a downfill system. To facilitate vertical stacking, a steel dolly which can hold 6 Aero 12A units is also available.
